If you opt to study in SG, here are the requirements for admission for foreign student applicants:

  • Language Requirements. International students should be highly proficient and articulate in the English language since it is the primary medium of instruction in higher education institutions in the country.

Universities also uphold high admission standards when it comes to the English language. Students whose first language is not English will be required to take the IELTS/TOEFL administered by the universities and get scores that are satisfactory to the specific institution.

  • Student’s Pass and Visa

You will need a Student’s Pass to study in Singapore legally. You might also need a visa to enter the country, so be sure to secure one if you are certain to be admitted to your chosen university.

You can apply for a Student’s Pass in the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) under the Student’s Pass Online Application & Registration System (SOLAR), within a period of one to two months before the start of your program. You can access SOLAR using the information and details that will be given by your university after your acceptance. You will also be asked to provide documents, as well as pay a fee of $60. The ICA will collect the payment upon your arrival in SG.
